Academic/General Japanese Course

This course prepares students for life in a Japanese university or any pursuit of higher education. Students receive comprehensive standard lessons, dedicated preparation for the JLPT and EJU exams, a variety of elective courses, and engaging cultural activities held year-round. 📆 Duration of the Course With Student Visa: 6 months to 2 years Without Student Visa: 3 months 📅 Enrollment Periods Students can enroll in January, April, July, or October. ⏰ Class Schedule Classes are held Monday to Friday. The Short-Term General Japanese Course is designed for students in Japan on visas other than a college student visa, allowing them to study Japanese for as little as two weeks. The course offers structured lessons in listening, reading, speaking, writing, vocabulary, and grammar, helping students improve their Japanese effectively, even in a short time. 📍 Location Offered at all ISI locations. 📅 Enrollment Periods Flexible enrollment options available. ⏰ Class Schedule Classes are held Monday to Friday. Reading abilities include short sentences in hiragana, katakana, and basic kanji on familiar topics. Speaking practice involves using simple expressions for greetings, introductions, and basic questions. Writing skills cover short sentences about oneself using simple kanji and kana. Grammar instruction includes JLPT N5–N4 patterns, while vocabulary development covers reading and writing 300–500 kanji and understanding 2,000–3,000 basic words. Intermediate Level (Term 3-5) – 9 Months CEFR B1–B2 | JLPT N3–N2/N1 At the intermediate stage, students refine their comprehension and communication skills. Listening comprehension expands to understanding main ideas and detailed information in conversations, news, and lectures.
